UPDATES  &  DEVELOPMENTS

-- In October 2018, Komodo established an official relationship with the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). As part of Komodo and UTA's relationship, Komodo provided funding and technical support for a course on blockchain technology. The course was taught by Dr. Sajib Datta, who is a Strategic Adviser to the Komodo project. After two semesters of the course, students built dApps with Komodo's technology as their final project. In addition, Komodo is sponsoring a Hackathon organized by HackUTA, a computer science club at UTA, that will take place this weekend, on September 28-29.

-- This week, the Komodo team released a new plan to strengthen and grow the Komodo community. The new initiative includes community guidelines and a community moderator program, to which anyone can apply. If you're active in Komodo's Discord community and you're interested in becoming a moderator, you can apply here. Komodo's new community building plan also includes a bounty program, wherein 777 KMD will be distributed to community members and moderators for their valuable contributions each month.

-- Komodo published a video tutorial on How To Make A Blockchain with Komodo's Antara Composer. The video shows you how you can customize and launch a sovereign Smart Chain in just a few minutes. For more details and instructions, see the accompanying blog post on How To Make A Blockchain with Antara Composer. Though the Antara Composer is still in a beta phase and the Komodo Dev Team has plans to expand the features available within the application, it is fully functional and you can use it to launch your Smart Chain today. Try the Antara Composer here.

-- Progress continues on AtomicDEX. The mobile version is constantly being improved. Market maker tools are in the final stages of development. The Komodo Dev Team is also working on a pure web-based AtomicDEX application which runs natively in a web-browser without any external binaries or applications.

-- NOWNodes, a subsidiary of ChangeNOW, listed Komodo this week. NOWNodes runs public, full seed nodes of various blockchains to provide simple, fast, and secure access to the blockchains' public nodes. It's free and easy to use.

-- The Komodo Dev Team is still looking for a software developer with extensive experience with the Dart programming language and the Flutter framework. See the job posting for more information.

A WORD FROM THE C-SUITE

"Blockchain is an incredibly exciting new field and education is the key to reach mainstream adoption. We believe developing on Komodo is an excellent way to learn about enterprise-level, composable blockchain applications, and we are thankful to Dr. Datta for teaching this class. We are also preparing to announce new educational partnerships this year."   -- Komodo CSO Steve Lee
