Komodo is pleased to announce that a massive ecosystem update will be activated on December 20, 2019 at block height 1,670,000. The update to version 0.5.0 of the Komodo software is mandatory for all exchanges, miners, and other individuals running a full-seed node. Learn more about the Komodo v0.5.0 update here.
Komodo CTO Kadan Stadelmann did two interview this week: one with Decrypt Media about Komodo's upcoming web DEX and one with CryptoMurmur about his personal life.
"In the last four months, we've launched the first DEX for mobile phones, on-boarded thousands of users, and executed the first web browser-based atomic swap," said Kadan. Read the full interview with Decrypt here.

This week, Komodo Marketing Manager Audo Kowitz gave a presentation on Komodo at a Cryptour Event, hosted by OKEx, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Audo discussed benefits of multi-chain architecture versus the still popular single-chain platform model. Watch Audo's presentation on Komodo here.
The popular Crypto 101 Podcast is holding a free online conference called the CRYPTO 2020 Summit. Komodo CSO Steve Lee will be speaking at the event, which takes place from Jan 29 to Jan 31, 2020. Tickets are free but you must register in order to stream the conference. Register here.
Komodo is hosting an educational blockchain event at the Goztepe Campus of Marmara University in Turkey next weekend, on Saturday, December 13th. Komodo was listed on two new exchanges this week. The first is BiteEU, a new exchange launched in Estonia. Komodo has one trading pair, with BTC. The second KMD listing is with VCC Exchange, based in Singapore, where KMD was also listed with a single BTC trading pair.
Komodo is looking for two new developers: a frontend developer and UX/UI designer with at least 3 years of experience; and a blockchain core developer with at least 5 years of experience with C/C++ and at least 2 years of experience with either the BTC or the ZEC protocol. "I always kind of hoped that cryptocurrencies would become a truly decentralized form of this global financial power which economies and societies are based on. In the beginning when I got to know about Bitcoin and all these P2P decentralized cryptographic technologies, I thought it would likely result in this financial power being distributed in a much more decentralized manner, however reality taught me that structures and people behind the financial system which is controlling the traditional financial layer, also kind of made this shift over to the crypto world. So what we have seen is multi-billion dollar companies controlling large parts of this ecosystem and industry, not just from a financial perspective, but in general."
