Ripple's CTO is kicked off of YouTube for alleged impersonation. David Schwartz questioned who the video-sharing platform thought he was impersonating. He followed it up with a notice from YouTube that explained he was prohibited from accessing, possessing, or creating any YouTube accounts. The removal of Schwartz's account comes a week into a Ripple lawsuit with YouTube regarding fake accounts impersonating its CEO Brad Garlinghouse. In light of the lawsuit, Garlinghouse said that social media companies have failed to monitor their platforms, with many of them dragging their feet to tackle the problem of scams. Crypto startup Taurus Group raises $11 million in a Series A funding round. The round, which was led by Arab Bank Switzerland, also saw participation from the Tezos Foundation, among others. With the injection of money, Taurus Group is aiming to expand its operations into Europe. Lamine Brahimi, the co-founder of Taurus Group, said that they will be growing the firm's numbers from 20 to 40 over the next 12 to 18 months. With over 10 clients that are mainly high-net-worth individuals and family offices, the company is in "advanced discussions" with several top European banks. THE BLOCK | |
