Coinbase reported $2.23B in Q2 revenue / Neuberger Berman to include BTC and ETH / Fresh Funding / TRON launched $300M GameFi Fund

Coinbase reported $2.23B in revenue and 44% user growth during a Q2 earnings call. The earnings exceeded Q2 earnings projections of $1.78B. More: Coinbase shares gained 2.1% following the Q2 report and adjusted earnings per share of $3.45. BTC made up approximately 24% of Q2 trading volume on Coinbase, down from 39% in Q1. Despite the gains Tuesday, Coinbase stock is down 29% since its direct Nasdaq listing on April 14. The Nasdaq has increased 7% in that time.

Neuberger Berman’s Commodity Strategy Fund filed for the inclusion of bitcoin and ethereum investment vehicles. The filing outlines a new path for the funds operated by the billion-dollar asset manager. More: The announcement follows Berman’s Form D filing for the “Hedged Cryptocurrency Volatility Fund.” Including BTC and ETH into the Commodity Strategy Fund will add digital assets to a portfolio of agriculture, livestock, energy, and precious metal futures. Neuberger Berman previously published “The Bitcoin Experiment,” which called BTC something “worth watching.”

🍋Fresh Funding🍋 FalconX, Trading Platform: $210M ⮕ Tiger Global, Altimeter, and B Capital Group led the Series C funding round with participation from Coinbase Ventures, American Express, Fidelity, Accel, and others. More: Following the funding round, FalconX has reached a unicorn valuation of $3.75B.  The startup offers a digital asset trading platform for institutional investors. FalconX will use the fresh funding to grow its institutional offerings and other services. Helium, Infrastructure/IoT: $111M ⮕ The funding round was led by Andreessen Horowitz and participated in by Alameda Research, ribbit Capital, 10T Holdings, Multicoin Capital, and others. More: Helium’s fundraise was aimed to expand its LongFi wireless network offering. LongFi provides a network for IoT devices around the world, powered by distributed node operators. Following the fundraise and achieving its 100,000 active node milestone, Helium’s native token HNT gained 40%.

TRON Foundation announced the launch of a $300M investment fund. The “GameFi fund” aims to grow GameFi on the TRON network. More: GameFi is a term used to describe finance gamification and blockchain-native play-to-earn games. APENFT and WINKLink are additional collaborators to the GameFi fund. The three collaborators previously funded the TRON Arcade Fund for NFT marketplaces and games.
