 FTX US daily average transaction volume spiked to $360M in Q3, up 512% from the previous quarter. Q3’s highest transaction day was Sept. 7, where the exchange saw $807M in transactions throughout the day. More: - FTX’s report stood in contrast to Coinbase.  The Bitcoin (BTC) Taproot upgrade is expected to happen on Saturday. The upgrade will bring numerous changes to the network, including scripting improvements and Merkelized Abstract Syntax Tree (MAST). More: - Taproot is the most significant upgrade to the Bitcoin network since the SegWit upgrade in 2017.
- The latest upgrade is significantly less controversial than the SegWit upgrade, which led a faction of the Bitcoin community to fork the network and create Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
- MAST will utilize the Lightning Network and make it more difficult to analyze Bitcoin transactions.
- Eight hundred blocks will need to be mined before the upgrade can take effect.
