The Bitcoin (BTC) Taproot upgrade is expected to happen on Saturday. The upgrade will bring numerous changes to the network, including scripting improvements and Merkelized Abstract Syntax Tree (MAST). More: - Taproot is the most significant upgrade to the Bitcoin network since the SegWit upgrade in 2017.
- The latest upgrade is significantly less controversial than the SegWit upgrade, which led a faction of the Bitcoin community to fork the network and create Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
