 Celo (CELO) blockchain developer cLabs fired its lead developer for misconduct. CEO Tim Moreton confirmed that former Summa founder James Prestwich was fired on Sunday. More: - Moreton did not explain the misconduct but stated it was not due to Celo’s Optics or Prestwich’s technical work issues.
- Within 15 minutes of Prestwich’s termination, the Optics GovernanceRouter contract went into recovery mode, overriding the governance of Optics’ multisig wallet.
- During the deployment of the recovery mode, Prestwich allegedly created a pull request on GitHub, confirmed the requested deployment, and claimed reimbursement for funds used.
- Moreton said he doesn’t believe any funds on Celo or Ethereum are at risk but is currently reaching out to Prestwich and further investigating the situation.
- Prestwich told The Block that he was not a keyholder on Optics recovery mode and said cLabs and Celo lied about him, but offered no other comment on the advice of his lawyer.

 Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) reclaimed their places as the top trading assets on Coinbase. For the past two weeks, Shiba Inu (SHIB) held the top spot on the crypto trading platform. More: - SHIB accounted for 16.6% of the total trading volume on Coinbase last week and 25% the week before.
- SHIB fell to the third most traded asset at 6.72%, followed by Solana (SOL) at 6.02% and Loopring (LRC) at 5.64%.

 Avalanche (AVAX) reached a new ATH over the weekend as Three Arrows Capital CEO Su Zhu called out Ethereum (ETH). Zhu's Three Arrows Capital co-led a $230M funding round for Avalanche back in September. More: - Zhu's comments on Twitter came as a response to Synthetix (SNX) founder Kain Warwick stating that people in crypto have "sold out" for profit maximization.
- Zhu responded, saying he no longer supports Ethereum because the blockchain has "abandoned its users."
- Ethereum is allegedly abandoning its users due to fee hikes and transaction gas requirements, making it difficult for developers to deploy smart contracts.
Analyst's Take: - Ethereum transactions fees are currently up over 1,500% since last year.
- While I don't think a bear market is needed to remind Ethereum culture what they initially set out to do, I believe Zhu is right about developers moving elsewhere.
- Solana (SOL) contributors recently doubled that of Ethereum contributors, and more developers are rushing into newer layer-1 blockchains like Avalanche and Polkadot (DOT).
- While some argue whether Solana or Cardano (ADA) are the next "Ethereum Killers," recent trends make me believe a better name for them would be "Ethereum Survivors."

 The European Central Bank (ECB) extended the Eurosystem electronic payment instruments, schemes, and arrangement (PISA) framework. The latest policy revision will include crypto transfers and digital payment assets. More: - The ECB stated that its changes are consistent with future European Union regulations on stablecoins and other digital assets.
- Compliance with the newly announced rules will be required for entities regulated by the Eurosystem by Nov. 15, 2022.
