The SEC halted the token issuance for the first legally recognized DAO LLC, American CryptoFed DAO LLC. The decision came after the SEC reviewed the DAO's Form 10 for Ducat and Locke tokens. - The SEC stated that the Form 10 filing contained misleading information and lacked sufficient information on the tokens.
- The DAO was recognized as a legal entity back in July following the passage of a bill in Wyoming that formally recognizes DAOs as LLCs.
- Administrative proceedings are expected to follow to determine whether the issuance of Ducat and Locke tokens should be suspended.

Decentralized Exchanges (DEXs) saw around 550% growth between August 2020 and 2021, outpacing centralized exchanges. The findings come from a recent report published by blockchain analytics company Chainalysis. More: - Further analysis found that the number of crypto exchanges has also dropped from 845 to 672 since 2019.
- The total value (TVL) locked in DeFi exchanges exceeded $250B, compared to $10B the year before.
- Also reported: derivative exchanges saw 265,000 transactions over the past year, with the average transaction in Aug. 2021 at around $79,000.
