ConsenSys sued former investment head Kavita Gupta, alleging resume fraud. The lawsuit comes two weeks after Gupta sued ConsenSys for failing to pay her for her work in starting ConenSys Ventures. The SEC filed a lawsuit against Crowd Machine in connection with the project’s ICO. The SEC’s last enforcement action related to an ICO was almost one year ago to date. More: - The SEC’s complaint against Crowd Machine claims that Australia-based Craig Sproule illegally offered unregistered securities through the use of ICO pools.
- ICO pools are groups of investors who provide capital to accredited investors to make investments on their behalf.
- The SEC further claims that the $5.8M raised in the ICO was not used to develop Crowd Machine’s “Crowd Computer” system but was instead invested into gold mining operations in South Africa without the investors’ knowledge.
