1. The correlation between the price of bitcoin and altcoins has diminished over the last three months, according to a study from Binance Research. The prices of altcoins historically followed bitcoin, including during last year's historic crash. However, if the current trend of lower correlation continues it would sign a maturing of the market where future price cycles will not cause the entire market to move as one. Bitcoin's market dominance recently hit its lowest point in seven months, threatening to fall below 50 percent. –NEWS BTC

2. IBM's research laboratory in Haifa, Israel has created a blockchain platform it hopes will reduce the sale of fake medicine in Africa. The system has the ability to bring transparency to the pharmaceutical supply chain, letting patients know if the drugs they take have the active ingredients promised and no toxic substances. The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine estimates that up to 158,000 people in Africa die each year from malaria after taking fake antimalarial drugs. –THE STANDARD

4. Overstock's tZERO security token platform plans to launch its own mobile trading app this summer. CEO Saum Noursalehi told CoinDesk that the app will focus on more than security tokens, allowing customers to trade a wide-range of cryptos including bitcoin. He added that the app's growth was part of the reason the company acquired Bitsy. The app, he added, will allow users to hold custody of their crypto without relying on a third party, and will plug into a network of exchanges through tZERO's partner, institutional trading platform SFox. –COINDESK
