The FBI is investigating a possible breach in its network. The threat actor responsible for the incident has not been named by the agency. More: It is believed that hackers have attacked an FBI computer system used to track the sexual exploitation of children. While the reports have not been confirmed by the FBI yet, outlets such as CNN claim to have been investigating the case since last week. The agency has not shared technical details regarding the breach yet but stated that it has contained the cyberattack and its systems are functioning. Zoom Out: The FBI has been the target of cyberattacks in the past by numerous threat actors. In November 2021, the FBI's email servers were hacked to distribute spam emails.

FBI officials, security researchers, and government officials have warned about possible 2024 presidential campaign interference by foreign threat actors. CISA officials stated they are worried about possible hacking campaigns from Russia, Iran, and other actors.  More: Officials from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency stated that Russia and Iran are expected to be the two countries most interested in disrupting the upcoming 2024 presidential elections in the U.S. Security experts claim that threat actors may target outdated election equipment and undertrained election workers that are spread out in more than 10,000 different voting jurisdictions and tens of thousands of voting centers. According to officials in charge of voting centers, efficient capital allocation is one of the biggest challenges they face due to the size of the jurisdictions they have to manage.

Thousands of NHS workers have had their data leaked due to what the NHS has described as a human error. It is unclear whether hackers have stolen the information and whether they may use it in future hacking campaigns. More: The National Health Service, the U.K.'s national healthcare provider, has sent an email notifying all the affected victims. The leaked information was sent to several NHS managers and over 20 people outside the organization. It is estimated that around 14,000 NHS employees were affected by this breach. NHS officials stated that law authorities and private investigators are both working on the case to track the exact circumstances that led to this data leak.

Stelo Labs has raised a $6M Seed funding round to protect Ethereum users from being hacked. A16z led the funding round. More: Stelo Labs offers an extension that cryptocurrency holders can use to analyze if a potential transaction is risky or safe. The company aims to differentiate itself by offering not only advice on how to proceed with a transaction but also explanations on why that transaction is unsafe. The company claims that since its launch, it has helped protect over $100M worth of Ethereum. This is its first major funding round since being founded in 2022. Stelo Labs is based in San Francisco.

More: CommandK offers an infrastructure-as-a-service software platform that enables clients to automate system backups and have a visualization of the weakest points in its digital infrastructure that can be used by hackers. In addition to finding technical errors, the platform helps companies track regulatory weak points. The company helps users protect data such as: API tokens, SSH keys, passwords, customer phone numbers and emails,  company financials, intellectual property, etc. The company was founded in 2022.
