1. Bitcoin passed through $7,000 over the weekend, reaching a high of more than $7,600 on Sunday while continuing to increase early Monday.  Bitcoin is now up 90% since the start of 2019 and many analysts predict the asset price will continue to rise. The price increase comes just as New York Blockchain Week is beginning and many projects will announce product updates and partnerships. Bitcoin remained resilient throughout the past two weeks as news of the hack against Binance and the New York Attorney General's investigation of Bitfinex being flooded the cryptocurrency news cycle. -CNBC

2. eBay may start accepting cryptocurrency payments and host digital collectibles on its platform in the near future. eBay has advertisements set up at Consensus, a major event at New York Blockchain Week. The ads state, "Virtual Currency. It's happening," and "Reach 179 million active buyers in the world's largest marketplace," and "Digital Collectibles. It's happening on eBay." This integration would be a major boost to the cryptocurrency market as eBay has 179 million users while crypto has 25 million. -CRYPTO NEWS NETWORK

3. From The Forums: Reddit user Crypto Nerd complained in r/cryptocurrency that he spent over €15 to send € 100 via Western Union. He proclaimed, "You could LITERALLY send 1m EUR of ANY cryptocurrency for less money". Cryptocurrency whales, those who have large amounts of crypto holdings, have recently transferred hundreds of millions of dollars of bitcoin for a minuscule amount, at least compared to traditional money transfer services like Western Union.

4. Flexa partnered with Gemini and launched an in-store crypto Point of Sale solution in Whole Foods, Starbucks and a host of other retailers. Flexa released an iOS app at New York Blockchain Week today called Spedn that allows users to spend bitcoin, bitcoin cash, ethereum and GUSD at participating retailers. These retailers include Nordstrom, Barnes & Noble, Express, Lowe's, GameStop, Office Depot, Regal Cinemas and Jamba Juice, to name a few. Users pay in crypto via the app and the retailer receives USD after Gemini converts it on the backend during the transaction. -COINDESK
