3. Behind The Scenes: Fritz Charles is the Director of Growth and Analytics at TokenTax. He also hosts the crypto podcast, Coingamma

Inside: What made you devote your professional life to cryptocurrency?

I'm just incredibly optimistic about the potential it has to impact the underserved in the world. I grew up in neighborhoods that were underserved by traditional financial institutions and I see the impact that cryptocurrency can have there, particularly when it comes to remittances.

Inside: What is Token Tax and what makes it special?

TokenTax is an accounting tool for crypto investors. We make it easy for crypto investors to calculate their taxes. We are unique because we support crypto investors across the globe and our product isn't only built by engineers, but also accountants, making it an easy to use self-service solution.

Inside: Outside of Token Tax, what is your favorite cryptocurrency company/project and why?

For better or for worse, the main usage of cryptocurrency is for trading, so the most important companies are exchanges. Of those, Binance is the most impressive. From their rapid 2017 growth to how they handled a recent hack, I think the company's transparent leadership is a net positive for the crypto space.

Inside: What is the hardest part of working in crypto? The most rewarding?

The hardest part is the fact that the entire sector is still highly correlated with the price of Bitcoin. It's still very difficult to get mass interest in anything you are working on when Bitcoin prices are depressed, which no one person or team can control. The most rewarding is the people you get to interact with. The crypto space is filled with some of the smartest and most eccentric folks I have ever come across.

Inside: What do you make of this latest cryptocurrency bull market?

I think the optimism driven by Blockchain week in NYC started the run and its maintained ever since, although the market is now trading sideways.

Inside: Is the price of Bitcoin higher or lower on Jan.1, 2020 than it is today?

Higher.

Inside: What coins do you own?

Right now, I own BTC, ETH, and BNB.

4. Michael Ford a long-time Bitcoin Core contributor has been named as the newest maintainer. Ford will join the four other current Bitcoin Core maintainers that include Wladimir van Der Laan, Jonas Schnelli, Marco Falke, and Samuel Dobson. As an open source project Bitcoin is reliant on distributed developers to fix system bugs and add new features. On the Bitcoin github, Ford said, "I'll gain merge access and will continue with all triage/repo management work. I'll be focusing primarily on build system development with some guidance from [Cory Fields]."  - CRYPTO NEWSZ
